Obama: Creating Pre-Crime Department and Minority Report

June 8, 2009

In a surprise twist of events, MSNBC actually aired a story that is not pro-Obama. Rachel Maddon reported on Obama’s speach in the National Archives, ironically in front of our Constitution. After condemning the Bush administrations “ad hoc legal approach for fighting terrorism that was neither effective nor sustainable” (okay, good – I’m with you on that one) Obama then proceeds to give his own ad hoc legal approach for fighting terrorism.

Two questions:

  1. Mr. President (and I use the term loosely), do you really think that the American people are that dense and will support your efforts at creating the creepy, science-fiction, “we thought this would remain only in Hollywood’s imagination,” Pre-Crime Department?!?!
  2. To the those who voted for this tyrannical re-incarnate of Stalin, are you ready to admit that you made a mistake?!?!

In all seriousness though …. oh wait, I am being serious.

A very dear friend of mine, voted for Obama. This friend was all too thrilled to have Obama – the advocate of change – be elected by such a sweeping margin. I sent her a text message the night of the election to congratulate her and a few months later, we spoke on the phone about the very near future. I told her that I really felt that the coming years looked grim and she was shocked. She told me that we were entering the best and brightest time and that we should look forward to our future.

Me dear friend – Bush was a terrible president, but Obama is so much worse. Bush trampled on our Constitution like a two-year old throwing a temper tantrum, but Obama has effectively spat on the very document that forbids “preventative detention.” He has snubbed his nose at our founding fathers and he has turned his back on liberty.

So, does this mean ALL of us, or only the people who have committed crimes of terror in the past? Or more likely with this wording and this administration it is for all crimes past & future that anyone might or might not have committed!??? Geesh, talk about change!
